Indian Excellent Private School, Sharjah follows a house system, with students divided into Coral, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire. The system is used to drive a (healthy) competitive spirit among students, as well as a sense of collective responsibility and of solidarity.
According to limited feedback through our survey, parents have not completely bought into current management, or the way the school is being run. One in two parents would recommend the school, below the average for the UAE of 66%. Worryingly students are said to have little sense of belonging at the school, and only "somewhat" enjoy going.
All parents that have responded to our survey have said that they have, at one time or another, thought of moving their child from the school. What will have stopped them will have been the dearth of choice in this segment of the school market.
Fees are not disclosed on the school's rather limited web site but they will lie very much in the value range - although that does not equal very affordable given the school's demographic of largely working/lower middle class Indian families.
Admission to KG will be granted to children who complete 4 years of age as on July 31st of the academic year. "Under-age children shall not be admitted as per the instructions received from the Ministry of Education". More here.
