The Hamad Centre for Special Needs is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with Autism and other special needs disabilities. The organization is located in Abu Dhabi and specializes in behavioral and educational intervention, based on the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis.

WSA contacted the school at the time of the review (on the number provided above which is the school's head office), but the centre did not have anyone available who could provide any detail.

Children are taught socially significant skills, such as communication and play skills, while reducing inappropriate or competing behaviour such as non-compliance, tantrums or aggression. Programs are tailored to the needs of each child based on age-appropriate developmental progression.

Children aged 2-17 years old are accepted.  The centre does not have a Web site yet, but is, we were told, "working on one". Note, this is as per our last update - so now for 12 months.

For more on special needs provision, please refer to our Special Needs special report. Note, this has a Dubai focus, but much of the information is relevant across the UAE. We will continue to extend our special needs coverage.

If you are the owner or the principal of the school and note any inaccuracies, or would like to update any information, you can now open an account with us.
