Global English School Al Ain is a private K-12 school located in Manaseer, Al Ain. The school was established in 1982 by Global Educational Solution. The school has been rated C6 by the Abu Dhabi Education Authority, the emirate's education regulator. C band schools are described as those in need of significant improvement.

The school currently caters to more than 1500 students with approximately 100 staff.

The student body is slightly weighted to males, with 815 are boys and 619 girls. There are 420 students in the Kindergarten (KG), 715 in the primary section, 237 in the middle section and 62 in the upper section (Grades 10 – 12).

73% of students are Muslims and 80% are of Arabic heritage. Forty‐two different nationalities are represented and the main ones are Filipino 18%, Egyptian 15%, Sudanese 13%, UAE 12%, Pakistani 9% and Jordanian 5%.

The school follows a mixed British curriculum with kindergarten students following the Montessori educational approach and secondary school students following a range of programmes such as IGCSE, A and AS level.

Classes are all taught in English apart from Arabic studies as set by the Ministry of Education. The school initially provided an Indian CBSE based curriculum. The curriculum changed in 2006‐2007 to the Cambridge IGCSE. The Montessori system of education was adopted in the Kindergarten in 2008‐ 2009.

According to ADEC the school is aware of current limitations, and is working on them. The school's most recent inspection not that teachers do not accurately assess the starting levels of students when planning lessons. This results in slower rates of progress. Tests are not standardised, except in Grades 10 to 12, and do not correlate sufficiently to international standards to enable a meaningful comparison. ADEC also noted the curriculum is too narrow and insufficient resources limit the quality of the provision in some subjects.

ADEC also notes that many classrooms are too small and restrict opportunities for students to engage in co‐operative and creative work.

In terms of attainment, results are below that normally expected in almost all subjects. Very few students reach international standards. The exception to this is in English where most children begin KG with low levels of spoken English but by the time they reach Grade 9 are able to communicate and read satisfactorily. The small number who then take IGCSE in Grade 10 perform close to international expectations in the English as an additional language examination. Attainment and progress are unsatisfactory in science, mathematics, Arabic and Islamic Studies.

The school has over 60 classrooms with internet access (but often no computers), and audio visual equipment. School facilities include a library, ICT lab, science lab, language lab, play area, basketball court and volley ball court. However, resources are deemed unsatisfactory by ADEC. "There are insufficient resources to support independent and practical work in a variety of subjects. PE facilities are very unsatisfactory. The school library lacks sufficient books in English fiction and Arabic. There are insufficient learning resources to meet the developmental needs of the students in the KG section. Many classrooms do not have computers, which limits the development of 21st Century skills..."

Total fees for the KG are relatively affordable, starting at AED 8000 and rising to AED 18300 in the upper section.

The school is selective and admission is based on the outcomes of entrance tests.
