Victoria Shanghai Academy is a Chinese all-through school on Hong Kong Island that offers all three IB programmes.

Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA) is a Chinese all-through school offering an International Baccalaureate curriculum. Teaching across the primary and secondary classes in Years 1-12 follows the three IB programmes – the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IBDP.

VSA is a bilingual school with a large Cantonese-speaking student population. In the PYP, students are co-taught by an English and Mandarin teacher to support dual language immersion from Years 1 -5. In the MYP, the language of instruction is English, with the exception of Chinese language and literature and Chinese as additional language classes. And in the IBDP, students take two or three languages, which can include French or Spanish.

This is a modern school with a 1:1 MacBook programme in the MYP and IBDP and an ICT hub for all students.

VSA is a high achieving school. In the most recent IBDP results, the average score was 37.9, which is the highest ever for the school; last year’s average score was 36.

• Pass rate: 100%
• No. students scored 40 points and above: 47%
• No. students scored 30 points and above: 93.9%
• No. students achieved the bilingual diploma: 32

Graduating students predominantly study at universities in the UK, US and Australia, as well as Hong Kong.
