Victoria Shanghai Academy is a Chinese all-through school on Hong Kong Island that offers all three IB programmes.

Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA) is a Chinese all-through school offering an International Baccalaureate curriculum. Teaching across the primary and secondary classes in Years 1 – 12 follows the three IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the IBDP.

VSA is a bilingual school with a large Cantonese-speaking student population. In the PYP, students are co-taught by an English and Mandarin teacher to support dual language immersion from Years 1 – 5. In the MYP, the language of instruction is English, with the exception of Chinese language & literature and Chinese as additional language classes. And in the IBDP, students take two or three languages, which can include French or Spanish.

This is a modern school with a 1:1 MacBook programme in the MYP and IBDP, and an ICT hub for all students.

VSA is a high achieving school.

In 2021, the average IB score was 37.5 (it was 36.2 in 2020), and for the fifth year in a row its average score is above 36 points. Three students achieved the top score of 45 points and two students achieved a near-perfect 44 points.

"Despite challenges under the pandemic in 2020/21, the cohort has striven their best to achieve a 100% pass rate and an average mean score of 37.5."

Graduating students predominantly study at universities in the UK, US, and Australia, as well as Hong Kong.
