This standalone international primary school is due to open in Kowloon later this year, offering a British-based education to students aged 5 to 10 years (Years 1 – 5).

Located in Hung Hom, Oxbridge School will follow the National Curriculum for England, and a dedicated teacher will support students with English as a Second Language in Year 1. Oxbridge School promises small class sizes of up to 15 students, who will be taught by subject specialists for art, science, geography, history, ICT, PE, music, and library and information studies. A Mandarin curriculum will be offered to both native and non-native speakers.

The school will be run by founding principal John Shooter, who has previous experience working in private schools in the UK, and teachers are currently being recruited from the UK, mainland China, and Hong Kong.

As a small school with a maximum capacity of 250 students, Oxbridge cannot compete with the vast campuses of larger schools in Hong Kong. It also enters a schools market with more than 30 well-established international schools already offering the National Curriculum for England. However, with its combination of small class sizes, location, ESL lessons for non-English speakers, and lower fees, Oxbridge does have its appeal.

Facilities will include specialist classrooms, a library, and a swimming pool; due to limited outdoor space, the school will use a nearby sports centre for many of its sporting activities.

Annual tuition fees for the 2021 – 2022 academic year will be HKD 128,000, which is mid-range for Hong Kong; however, unlike many schools in Hong Kong, there is no capital levy or debenture to pay.
