ELCHK Lutheran School is an English-medium DSS school that offers a Christian-based IB education to students in the New Territories.

Founded by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK), ELCHK Lutheran School offers what it describes as a “glocalized curriculum” to a body of local and international students, which has a strong focus on “enhancing students' biliteracy and trilingualism”. As well as teaching the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), Lutheran Academy (LA) is a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP). College students have the choice of studying the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) or the IBDP.

LA is a Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS) school, which means that it receives a subsidy from the government. The DSS scheme was introduced by the Education Bureau in 1991 to help improve the offering of private education in Hong Kong. DSS schools have the freedom to design their own curriculum and set their own school fees, although they must focus on offering a curriculum that targets local students and prepares them for local examinations.

As with all DSS schools, LA has its own admissions policy, rather than following the government’s Primary One Admission system (POA) or Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) scheme. Fees, which are higher than most DSS schools, range from HKD 125,844 in the primary division to HKD 155,467 in secondary.

Facilities include an outdoor running track, performing arts room, library, science and technology labs, and multi-media room.
