LET'S GO

A new 'affordable' primary school and kindergarten is due to open in Hong Kong this August. Located in Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Invictus International School (Hong Kong) will offer an English and Mandarin immersion programme to children aged three to 11 years old.

All-inclusive annual tuition fees for primary will be HKD 100,000, which is as much as half of that charged by some top-tier international schools in Hong Kong. By comparison, annual tuition fees are HKD 115,800 at ESF primary schools (Years 1-4); HKD 164,400 at Kellett School (Reception to Year 6); and HKD 157,090 at Nord Anglia International School (Primary).

Unlike these and many other schools in Hong Kong, Invictus will not charge parents an annual levy or compulsory debenture. This makes Invictus considerably cheaper and on a par with lower-cost schools such as HKCA Po Leung Kuk School and the Norwegian International School.

Invictus' kindergarten and primary school is due to open in August 2019, subject to approval from the Education Bureau. It is owned by Invictus International Schools, which opened its first affordable primary school in Singapore in 2016. Invictus International School in Singapore offers a ‘back to basics’ education for annual fees of HKD 97,000, which is considerably cheaper than most international schools there.

Founder John Fearon (pictured above) said: “The opening of our newest school in Hong Kong enables us to offer children the unmatched, high-quality learning experience for which Invictus has become renowned at a truly affordable rate.”

Teaching will follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) integrated with an English and Mandarin immersion programme. Invictus will have capacity for up to 100 kindergarten students and 500 primary students, and enrolment is open to students of all nationalities.
