Kingston International School offers a bilingual programme in English and Chinese that complements its delivery of the popular IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Every class has one native speaking fully qualified Putonghua teacher and one native speaking fully qualified English teacher, and all students are immersed in both languages through each school day.

The school says: “Each day students spend a portion of the day immersed in English and a portion immersed in Putonghua with the rest of the day spent working in both languages… Students are able to master pinyin skills; acquire language knowledge and writing skills from easy to hard; appreciate different text types and poems; use their own creativity to write on different topics; and study and appreciate the beauty of classical Chinese texts.”
