The non-selective Kellett School is one of only two British schools in Hong Kong, and its Kowloon Bay (KLB) campus gives students the opportunity to study both IGCSEs and A Levels. Rated as an “outstanding school” in a 2016 inspection report by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), Kellett has a prep and secondary school on its Kowloon campus, and a prep school on the Pok Fu Lam Campus (PFL). Founded in 1976, it continues to be owned and governed by parents to this day.
Opened in 2013, the contemporary Kowloon campus has been designed for independent learning and has been “built around learning as passive supervision where the students take ownership of the space”. It’s a very green campus that is well-equipped for specialist teaching and has plenty of indoor space. As well as teaching Mandarin, Spanish, German, French and, Latin, the school runs a home language programme. The school showcases its talents in the Federation of British Schools in Asia’s (FOBISIA) sporting competitions and music festivals. And, to encourage a positive mindset, the school runs mindfulness courses, yoga sessions, and regular Feelgood Fridays with activities that focus on health and wellbeing.
