5th Place. Middlesex University (Dubai campus)
Middlesex University (Dubai) is the branch campus of Middlesex University, UK. It is not accredited by the local UAE MOHESR, it is licensed by the KHDA and is regularly audited by the UK Quality Assurance Agency of Higher Education.
Forbes Middles East Magazine ranked the Middlesex MBA as the best MBA in Dubai in their March 2012 issue. All new students are required to take the 120-credit bearing International Foundation Programme which lasts for 24 weeks. Upon completion of this programme, students can then apply to study for a programme of their choice.
The university has in the past actively recruited students who have completed 11 years of schooling into the International Foundation programme so students can complete their equivalent year 12 at Middlesex.
However, there has been some dissatisfaction among parents who felt that the programme was not on par with a year 12 in any educational system. In addition it is a costly option - if a student completes the International Foundation Programme followed by a 3-year degree, he/she would be set back by a total of AED190,000.
