7th Place. American University in Dubai
The American University in Dubai was founded in 1995 and is one of the oldest universities in the UAE.
It is accredited by the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In December 2007, The American University in Dubai received independent accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), one of America's seven regional accrediting commissions.
AUD is the first and only institution outside of the US and Latin America to be granted this honor by SACS.
AUD is located in the vicinity of media/internet city and its distinct and beautiful campus is a landmark in that area. AUD boasts a diverse student population and because it is modelled on the US universities’ system, it has an elected Student Government and a dedicated Student Centre, which sets it apart from other universities in Dubai.
Like its sister university, AUS, AUD also has one of the best libraries in Dubai. High priority seems to be given towards student support as well. There is a Maths Centre, Writing Centre and Academic Advising Centre, with opportunities for individualised support too.
