Most Recommended Schools in the UAE

16th place: Dubai College (86%)

Long considered one of the best schools in Dubai academically, it is perhaps unsurprising the school's parents give it such a ringing endorsement. The school is selective on intake, and historically had long waiting lists. Although entrance was rumoured to be slightly less competitive in the last academic year, this has always been a school parents have fought to get their child into - which means its parents are also likely to be quite critical of what they get once their child is in.

This was particularly the case last year when the school suffered a slight drop in its results last year (for the first time since the school began publishing results the school did not achieve a 100% A* to E pass rate, while its A*-C results were the lowest since 2009). However DC still posted a 99.23% pass rate for GCSE.

A’ Level results showed a similar drop over the previous year - but were still top of the table for Dubai.

While once out of the way, Dubai College has seen the emirate grown around it. It is arguably now the best positioned school in the whole of Dubai, adjacent to Internet and Media Cities, and close to the Marina, JBR and the Palm. DC has recently appointed a new headmaster from within, thus presumably ensuring continuity and familiarity for parents and students.

The school is not for profit, which means its premium tier fees are reinvested back into teachers, infrastructure and facilities. They start at 67,773 AED for Year 7, rising to 76743 AED for Year 12.
