Fees Average

1,016,925 AED is the exact amount you will spend on tuition from grades Foundation/KG 1 to Year 13 at Repton School Dubai, currently the emirate’s most expensive school, excluding any fee increases over the next 15 years, and excluding any costs other than tuition.

Investing in your child’s education is seriously expensive, and like any big investment it is important to conduct a due diligence process to make sure it’s worth it.

There is a choice: Sending your child to the cheapest England-based National Curriculum school in Dubai over the same period will cost you just 60,000 AED. (See chart, above).

Both schools will deliver, on paper, the same education.

How they deliver Key Stages 1-4 of the England (and Wales) National Curriculum, and the experience they provide as they do, will vary substantially of course. If education really is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school, then schooling is much more than examinations. It is as much about the experiences children get from up to 15 years of schooling.

The purpose of this report, however, is the ABCs of education in the narrower sense – “The Best British Schools in Dubai” pulls together all of the data on schools to present the most objective analysis possible of the schools which deliver the goods academically, at “reasonable” cost.

We add “at reasonable cost”, because anything is possible with an infinite amount of money. The trick is to spend it intelligently, efficiently and where it matters.

We do look at other criteria in this report – for example, the holistic nature of the curriculum and extra-curricular activities – but these are secondary factors here to the academic attainment of the children under a school’s care.

This focus has been driven by you, the parents. According to the Which School Advisor (WSA) Survey, the academic performance of the school is the single most important criterion you use when choosing a school.

For 1 in 4 parents sending their children to English National Curriculum schools it is the most important consideration in choosing a school – higher than any other criterion. For almost 100% of parents it is ‘a’ consideration.

Naturally we cover a lot of ground in this report. To prevent it from becoming an incredibly long page of text and statistics we have broken it down into manageable chunks. There is a natural way to progress through the report, but if you want you may jump to particular areas of interest. How to do so may be found below.
